First and foremost Kay is highly intelligent. This is an obvious personality trait as Kay is a Ravenclaw . Due to his intelligence he tends to get bored very easily if his brain is not stimulated correctly. Kay getting bored can also get very dangerous as he tends to do very dangerous and stupid things in order to curb his boredom.

Kay is also extremely overprotective. This can be seen as a strength and a weakness. He tends to try and wrap those he cares about in cotton wool and try and protect them from the dangers of the world. Kay has for some reason a fear that if he does not protect everyone he cares about he may just lose them all. This fear is a possible reason for Kay being extremely overprotective of others.

Ironically Kay also has a love for danger. He will throw himself in dangers pathway just to feel the thrill. Kay loves the adrenaline rush that danger brings with it. This love of danger combined with his over protectiveness does tend to get him in trouble with his professors. The rush which he gets when fighting dark creatures and dark wizard is almost addictive for Kay.

overall history, Kay was born in a small coastal village in Wales. His father was a pureblood wizard and his mother was a muggle-born. When Kay was a year old his sister Kailyn joined the family. The two were extremely close growing up and had a carefree childhood. Both Kay and his sister were raised on their family’s farm. While growing up both children learnt to ride as the best way to get around in the area where the Bowen family lived was on horseback. The children spent the days of their childhood mucking about on the farm and tearing up and down the countryside on their ponies.

This all changed when Kay turned eleven. He was accepted into Hogwarts which was no surprise as both Bowen children had showed their magic at a very early age. At first Kailyn was extremely upset that her brother would be going away but after Kay assured his sister that he would write to her every week and that she would join him the next year she became extremely excited for her older brother. The whole family travelled to London to get Kay’s supplies for school and to see Kay off to Hogwarts.

When Kay arrived at Hogwarts he was sorted into Ravenclaw. He kept his promise to his sister and wrote to her every week, telling her in detail of all that happened to him at Hogwarts. Kay soon became very popular among his housemates due to his high level of intelligence and his love for danger. Kay was in detention more than even some Gryffindor students. Ironically Kay was also one of the top students during his first year.

Kay was joined by Kailyn in his second year and he was slightly disappointed when she was sorted into Slytherin. One thing that worried Kay was that his young sister began to idolize a second year Slytherin Kay disliked the girl and frankly preferred her older sister, who was in Ravenclaw with him. The siblings’ disagreement about Kailyn’s choice in friends soon caused a rift to occur between the two and Kay began drifting further and further apart. Kay decided in his fifth year that he would become an Auror and worked hard in the subjects he needed to become an Auror. He easily obtained the marks needed to become an auror and soon after completing his seventh year began taking the first steps towards becoming one.

In his final exams he scrapped through the concealment and disguise part of his exam, but his marks in the other parts of the auror exam helped him pass. He became a fully qualified auror and started working full time at capturing dark witches and wizards. A year later, however, everything changed. Harry Potter, who was also known as the 'boy who lived', was killed by the dark lord. Just a few days after this happened Kay saw his younger sister, who suddenly told him that she was becoming a deatheater. This led to an argument which ended in Kailyn hitting him with a curse that knocked him out and then vanishing. Kay has not seen his sister since this day.

Three years later the battle of Hogwarts happened and Kay fought on the side of the school, but was forced to leave by the order, as they were worried that if the deatheaters won that they would then need someone in the ministry. Since then he has been spying on the ministry for the order.
