Karin's someone who always gets what she wants; no matter the cost, no matter the consequences. She's a rather self-centred person; as far as she's concerned, others are simply there for her use and disposal. She's a calculating, manipulative and very intelligent. She knows all the right things to say to all the right people; she can be an absolute charmer when she needs to be and revert to a complete maniac at other times.

Many people often refer to her as being bi-polar due to the fact that she can switch her moods and demenour quicker than a strike of a cobra; but she just likes to think of it as good acting skills. To the world, she prefers to present herself as a rather innocent and perhaps even naive person to begin with; she speaks as much as she needs to, she charms people with her words and draws people in, in a way that allows them to feel comfortable; to feel as if they're in good hands. However, that's just her prefered facade. The true Karin; a manical, short-tempered, impatient, calculating and rather violent woman isn't someone Karin's afraid to bring out if the former isn't getting her what she wants. She prefers to get things done without much mess: she may be selfish, but she's hardly sadistic, however, one would find that if need be, Karin wouldn't hesitate to take on the role of a manical psychopath and get what she needs from whoever it is in a rather... persuassive manner.

Karin, despite having the ability to make everyone feel like they know her rather well, is someone who's rather hard to figure out. She's full of surprises and it's almost impossible to guess what her next move will be. The fact that she's awfully determined and pretty much fearless due to the fact that she shuts her emotions away cause her to be a rather dangerous opponent seeing as she'll use absolutely all that she has in order t get what she wants.

She's stubborn and strong headed, and it's extremely hard to get her to change her mind once it's been set on a specific path. She's determined and hardworking when she wants to be; however one trait that she does infact lack is loyalty. Many may call it cowardice, but she simply things of it as being smart and self-conservative; she sticks to the side that has the upper hand. She isn't a fool who will walk into the arms of death in order to save someone else; to her, there is only one person who is important, and that would be herself; she honestly couldn't care the slightest about others- and perhaps it is her lack of loyalty and commitment that causes her to be rather unloving and uncaring. Everything that Karin does is with an ulterior motive that'll benifit her in one way or another; if she feels particularly generous she may do a favour or two for someone, but it's something that's rather rare.

There is one thing, about Karin however that she considers to be quite a weakness of hers; and that is that she'll never break a promise that she made to someone. She's a woman of her word- which is probably why she doesn't give her word to many people at all. If a person can get her to utter the three magic wrods "you have my word," they can be absolutely certain that the job that they want done will be done. Mind you, it doesn't apply for absolutely everything. She'll only really consider her word given if she's done it on an individual basis; giving her word as a part of a group, or swearing loyalty to a leader isn't something that she'll take seriously. Like said before; she isn't a loyal person in the slightest. The only reason she's a woman of her word, is because it's something that allows her to feel more powerful; giving her word and keeping it is sort of a test of her own ability.

The De’Ath family is best known for its pureblood supremacy. The previously French family moved to England soon after the first rise of Voldemort. Karin was born into this family a twin. While they were almost identical, she was born with dark hair and soon it was clear the two were polar opposites. . They lived in Africa for the first years of their lives, before her parents moved to Oxford, England. The household demanded that order was kept and her father was a very strong perfectionist and control freak and believed in the type of order Voldemort had once imposed. Her mother on the other hand was a paranoid and rather irrational and over protective of her fortune but cared little for her children who were nothing less of status symbols. Karin and her twin were surprises to the family, their youngest sibling being Raven, who was fifteen years older than they. Their father was proud. He believed that girls were more susceptible to him moulding them into the ways of his family and the tradition of being in Slytherin. He made it clear that they'd be in Slytherin, or they'd be outcasts of the family. Karin was naturally inclined to believe what her father said. She adored him and her two older brothers. Even though her sister was very different from the rest of her family, Karin still liked being around her. Being young and naive, she still believed her sister would come to her family’s way of thinking. They often played together, Karin taking on the evil character and Silisia being the good one.

As the years went by, Karin saw that her sister was withdrawing from her. Hurt, she pushed her sister away and spent more time by herself and with her brother’s when Lissia was not with them. Her parents doted upon her, making sure she got the best of everything. She became spoilt and vindictive toward her twin. When she was eleven she got her letter to Hogwarts. Knowing that she had to appease the family name, she desperately hoped to be sorted into Slytherin. Her wish was granted, and to her surprise, Silisia was sorted into Ravenclaw. She quickly made friends through her good looks and arrogant charm. She did well in classes, as she was just as intelligent as her sister, just more cunning and driven. She knew what she wanted and never allowed herself not to get that. By the time her twin went to go live with their aunt, Karin card very little. She deemed it was all for the best, because after all, Silisia had brought down the family name.

During her fifth year, Karin started to date Silisia’s former best friend, Connor Flynn. She viewed it as a sort of triumph as she had taken away the person closest to her sister. Blood traitors, after all, did not deserve happiness, only death and pain. She was rather disappointed when Connor returned to his good ways but was pleased to see Lissia had become wary of him. She was disgusted when she found out Silisia was returning to live with them but was won over when her parents said they were trying to convert her. However, she was disappointed to see Lissia seemed not to be interested. In the year after she graduated, she felt little horror or surprise to learn that both Raven’s wife and his aunt had been murdered.

Soon after the family heard whispers of Voldemort’s return, Karin was included in the family secret following. They spoke of plans to join him when he did arise. Finally, when he did, Karin eagerly joined the side of the Death Eaters.
