Nessie walks calmly through the street, in broad daylight. Her hair is longer and darker today, her eyebrows a centimeter longer and her skin tanner. Before she had left the forest she had slightly altered her body using her metamorphmagus abilities so she wouldn't be immediately recognized by any of the death eaters. Her plan, to act like she's actually supposed to be in the middle of Hogsmeade, is going fairly well. As long as she doesn't look back to often, or bump into anyone she knows, she should be fine. It's all too risky, in her opinion. The Forbidden Forest, with all the half-mad centaurs, spiders, and giants, was safer than this. She wouldn't have come out, but she needs food. Her stomach rumbles as a shop comes into view. It's not one of the major places, she'd never even noticed it before now. Hopefully that will help her avoid the death eaters. When she walks up to the counter and asks for a bag of bagels, the only really good thing on the menu, the person behind the counter stares at her for a moment. Nessie looks at the floor, confused. She had never seen the girl before, she shouldn't be looking at her like that. Nessie catches her reflection in a mirror across the room and realizes how ragged her clothes are from days in the forest. What a stupid mistake! She thinks, terrified now. It would be impossible to explain why her clothes were in such a bad state, if anyone were to ask. She grabs the bag of bagels, tossing the money on the counter so quickly that the pieces scatter everywhere. "Sorry!" She says, turning to run back outside.

It had been a tough few weeks for Kyros, what with having to report to two different masters and keep his real intentions from Dumbledore. The meddling, Muggle lover who would have them all mate with the weaker side of the human race, instead of hunt them like they will do under the rule of Lord Voldemort. He smiled and emitted a harsh laugh out of his lips as the thought of hunting Muggles and Muggleborns and torturing them for sport. He really did despise them, but not as much as he hated Blood Traitors. They were worse than Muggles, because they knew and came from the side of magic and yet they felt the need to fraternise; at least Muggles were ignorant and obtuse. Straitening his dark green robes - a testament to the Dark Lords house at Hogwarts, Slytherin - he rolled up his sleeve and observed the Dark Mark which writhed and slithered upon his exposed forearm. It had remained clear and black ever since Voldemort called all of his followers to the ruins of Hogwarts.
Kyros stared at the snake on the arm for a while, going over things in his head that he really shouldn’t have been thinking about. However, it was what he did; he was a strategist and always thinks about things, whether they were inconsequential or not. Kyros rolled back his sleeve, picked up his wand and checked that his hair was styled just the way he liked it (ruffled with a slight flick on the fringe) and exited the cave that he had adopted as his home, as to fit with his “scared, oh-my-here-comes-a-death-eater-lets-hide” image that he had to maintain. Kyros jumped off the cliff face where his cave was situated, and as he fell to his death, he spun in midair and apparated to the local village, which just happened to be Hogsmeade.
Looking around the village quickly, he immediately spotted a young girl stumbling out of the nearest shop. Her clothes were in quite a bad state and she looked extremely stressed; she was also clutching a bag of something or other. Striding forward, he stopped a few feet in front of her and nodded. He looked her up and down before he surmised that she was probably in her mid to late teens and probably attended Hogwarts before its miraculous fall. ‘You seem stressed.’ He said. It was a statement of assumed fact, not a question, she he pressed on. ‘Why are your clothes so ragged? Did you fall over?’ He smiled wickedly, loving the fact he could look down upon others due to his rich family and vast array of expensive robes.

Nessie stops short, avoiding running into the man in front of her. "Sorry." She mumbles, a knee-jerk reaction. She reaches behind her to smooth down her gold and brown hair, her elbow sticking up in the air. Calm down, or he'll know. She admonished herself.
Taking a few steps back, she analyzes the stranger who was bold enough to step right in front of her and criticize her appearance. He would be ragged if he had to spend weeks in a forest too! She assumes that he's a Slytherine pure-blood, from the looks of his rich-looking green robes. His manner confirms it, he's arrogant.
"Of course I'm stressed." She snaps. "You seem ridiculously confident. Are you that amazing that you feel like you can butt into peoples lives without worrying if they're dangerous?" Nessie says with a slightly sarcastic tone that only a few people catch on to.
Her face darkens at his smile, disliking the feeling on being watched like that. He reminds her vaguely of a hawk.

Looking down at the girl, he raised an eyebrow when she mumbled out a weak apology, sounding like she didn’t really mean it, but rather that she would like to be away from the area as soon as possible. She didn’t seem to be a nasty person, or indeed a nice person but rather one that was stuck in the middle. After a moment of silence, she stopped looking rather confused and worried, and stood back and observed Kyros better.
Immediately after he asked why she looked so ragged, her demeanour changed to an annoyed teenager, rather than a timid, scared one like she was when he first set his eyes on her. He smiled after she questioned him, obviously ignorant to who he was. Kyros took a step forward, filling the gap that she created by stepping back to get a better look. ‘Of course I’m confident.’ He smirked cruelly. ‘At least I have a reason to be.’ He looked her up and down and shook his head slowly. ‘Why are you stressed then? Feeling timid and alone in the Dark uprising?’ His smirk widened, feeling confident being a part of both sides and completely safe.

The moment he steps forward a voice in Nessie's head tells her to run. It's irrational of course, he might even be part of the order. He might know where Dumbledore is... Nessie frowns at herself, indecisive. She could always duck into an alley and quickly change her appearance, become unrecognizable and get away, and when would she ever get a chance to get in touch with the order again? It won't become much longer until it will be impossible to stay in the forest. There isn't much food, for one thing.
Her arrogant charade kicks in, and Nessie forces herself to relax and treat this like just another game. "I'm stressed because I'm starving, I haven't eaten a good meal in almost a week." She finally says, truthfully, but without loosing the ever-present sarcastic edge to her voice. "It's not like everyone in the world is filthy rich." She smiles sweetly, like she's proud to be dirt-poor and homeless. Her stomach rumbles, like it's backing her up.
Deciding that there really isn't any point in waiting, she opens up the bag and starts eating one of the bagels. Amazing. Bagels are amazing. "Do you want one?" Nessie holds up the bag, still smiling like this is all a joke.

If Kyros’s eyebrows were raised anymore, they would have disappeared into his hair. The girl in front of him was acting very strangely; first, she was angry and affronted about being accosted outside a shop in Hogsmeade and now she had changed into a lovely, sweet girl who was offering him light snacks, even though they had only just met! It was certainly a strange attitude to have, and Kyros wondered whether the girl had some kind of attitude changing disorder.
Collecting his thoughts, and getting his attention back on the girl in front of him, he looked down at the bag she was holding and sneered. ‘You’re offering me...bagels?’ He looked from the bag to the girls face and attempted, and failed, to prevent a laugh from escaping his lips. He shook his head and looked away from her for a moment, no longer worrying about his upcoming mission to attack a group of rebels, but now worrying for this girl’s sanity.
Composing himself once again, and berating himself for letting his attention waver once again, he focused his eyes on the girl, like a hawk would its prey. ‘Why haven’t you eaten for a week? Don’t you have a home to go to?’ A hint of a smirk played across his face. ‘And for your information: I don’t like bagels. They are horrible.’ He turned up his nose at the bag in front of her. ‘If you haven’t eaten for a week, then perhaps it will be best if you eat them yourself, anyway.’

He's laughing at me! Nessie has to stop herself from clenching her first or showing any sign of irritation. Inside, she's fuming. She keeps smiling, though, because that's how the charade works. Keep smiling and act like you don't care about what he says, and eventually he'll realize he can't hurt you and go away. She tells herself. Besides, he just said he doesn't like bagels. It's not like it's some horrible insult.
"Does it really matter that I'm hungry? It's not like it'll help you any." Nessie puts the bagel back into the plastic bag and stows the bag into her brown rucksack. They almost don't fit, but it's better than holding them all in her hands.
The sun starts to descend toward the horizon, and Nessie suddenly becomes aware of how close to nighttime it is. She glances around, anxiously. Being here in the dark is the last thing she wants. There is still plenty of time before curfew, but that doesn't mean that Hogsmead will be safe.
"Look, I'm gonna go, if you don't mind, Mr. Rich Guy." She plasters an apologetic expression on her face, hoping that he'll dismiss her as just another girl in a town full of people. The hope that this man is a member of the fabled order is quickly fading, and it's seeming more and more likely that he's not one of the good guys. I probably would have been fine if I'd just kept running by him. Nessie realizes, floored by her own stupidity. Wasn't that the first thing her mother had taught her, to not talk to strangers?
