Nessie's arrogant and almost always in a good mood. Even when she's mad, and she gets mad often, she never stops joking. When she came to Hogwarts she felt inferior because she was a mudblood, and she felt like a bit of an outsider because not many other people are metamorphmaguses, so she decided in her first year that she'd be so brilliant that no one could say she was worthless.

She can sometimes come across as shallow and stuck-up, but that's just the way she acts. She feels like she has to be strong and that that's really the only way to do it. If she acts like nothing really matters, than it won't matter. Simple and easy.

Nessie tries her best to always be movie forward, so she hates to dwell on the past. Usually she fails pretty badly at this and ends up feeling guilty and irritated, though she'd act like everything is fine.

Nessie is honestly very bad at doing things long term. She takes everything day by day and puts of tomorrow until next week. She is dedicated to become an Auror, and she's decent at doing homework at the right time and studying, but she's pretty hopeless at everything else.

Since she wants to be an Auror, she feels like she has to be brave and do the right thing every single time. She's actually to self-serving to be able to do that, she's a bit of a coward. She tries, though, and that's what counts.

Nessie's parents were ridiculously overprotective. They knew she was a wizard from the start, because her mom's brother in-law was a wizard and the whole family found out about the wizarding world once one of the nieces set a tree on fire with on visible matches. They, strangely enough for muggles, knew all about Voldemort and tried to prevent Nessie from going to Hogwarts. They thought that if she didn't go, Voldemort would never find out about her, so she'd be pretty safe.

Nessie got to go anyway, because there wasn't any way for her to control her powers without going to Hogwarts. After a few years of magical accidents happening at school her parents gave up on trying to keep her home and let her go.

At Hogwarts Nessie was happier than she had been at home, be she still felt like an outsider. She was still a mudblood, and a metamorphmagus, which made her feel like she couldn't connect with anyone. After a few weeks of being miserable she promised herself that she would learn as much magic as she could, with or without friends.

Once she stopped agonizing over when she would ever get friends, she began to make some, so she ended up doing pretty well at Hogwarts.

She was in her seventh year of Hogwarts when it fell, and she stayed hidden in the forbidden forest afterwards. She figured that she would put her family in danger if she went back to them, since Voldemort wanted to recruit students.

'Does it make me a coward, to run away?' I ask myself, already running. The battle is already lost, running away is nothing more than...a strategical retreat. I can do something later. I can join Dumbledore or bomb buildings. I couldn't do anything if I were dead. Behind me, someone screams and I run faster. I close my eyes for a moment and darken my hair and skin, hoping to make myself harder to see. Reaching the trees, I throw myself under a gnarled bush, panting. I'm exhausted, I'd never had to fight like that before, I'd never done anything like that for so long. As it turns out, classes don't really cut it when it comes to preparing for hours of battles.

I hear footsteps behind me, and I push myself farther into the bushes, not daring to breath. Whoever it is, they come closer, and I wish that I wasn't so tired, or I could give myself better camouflage. I'd turn into a squirrel or something.

"Lumos!" Someone shouts, their voice breathy and scared, but still to loud for me. If I'd been thinking straight, I probably would have realized that it was just a kid from school. A death eater would never have sounded so scared.

"Stupify!" I yell, both with my mouth and my mind. Even though I barely get louder than a whisper the spell works. The kid squeaks in frights, and then topples over. I look at the body, feeling stupid. I attacked what looks like a Ravenclaw second year. Wow, aren't I brave? I don't have time to revive him, I can already hear people coming. I shove him under the bush, hoping her won't be found. Before the voices get any closer I start running again. Once I get far enough away I can disparate and find somewhere to sleep.
